Christmas Merry Making and the Fox that Created it All!

Create holiday memories with the kiddos! Make this hot cocoa and grab “Chipper Races Right”, a new children’s book by Kimber Fox Morgan!

A cuddly blanket, a holiday-scented candle, a great book and a cup of rich, velvety hot chocolate.

This, my friends is the Christmas dream. Insert the treasure of a kiddo to read to and a new holiday tale to tell and it gets even better.

When you add a little time to do a bit of giving back…well, the holidays just shine a little brighter.

I have a tale to tell, about my daughter-in-law, Kimber FOX Morgan, her Christmas spirit, and the fox that came out of the whole kit and kaboodle!

At Christmas time, when her children were smaller, Kimber encouraged her friends to gather their families on Christmas Eve to “do good deeds” in their community.

From delivering donuts to the local fire department to recycling outgrown toys, the families would work together to make someone else’s Christmas just a little better.

Thus, the Merry Making Movement was born to inspire and teach kids about giving back to the community during the holiday season.

This movement is a challenge which empowers families to connect with others and help the community with a couple hours of gracious giving before a small, social celebration.

Kimber hosts this celebration at her home where she offered treats and libations, the most popular of which was her famous hot chocolate bar.

There were holiday games, gifts, crafts and of course stories. It was from this season of giving and giving back that Chipper was born.

Each of Chipper the Fox children’s book in the series contain a witty tale while offering an uplifting moral.

Kimber’s most recent book, Chipper Races Right is a delightful story with beautiful illustrations on every page. It is a heartwarming read for kids of all ages as Chipper and his pals train for a big race while learning important lessons about friendship and good sportsmanship.

I encourage you to share the gift of Chipper with a little one this season. And then, enjoy some merry making by gathering those around you for a bit of community good deed doing.

For a scrumptious reward, enjoy a good old fashion cup of hot chocolate with pals.

I promise you it will taste just a little better this year.

Merry EVERYTHING!

Chipper’s Cocoa

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Crushed candy cane

Directions

Whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt with about ½ cup of the milk in a saucepan over medium-high heat until the sugar dissolves, about 1 minute. Pour in the remaining milk and half-and-half. Continue whisking until the milk is hot, just before it begins to form small bubbles on the sides of the pan, about 5 minutes more. Stir in the vanilla and ladle the cocoa into mugs. Top with mini marshmallows and crushed candy cane.
