Shirley Temple Martoonies, Fish and Chips with Roasted Tomato Ketchup, Grilled Veggie and Fruit Kabobs, Individual Salmon Pot Pies, and Chocolate Mocha Sheet Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting
Prepare all of the sauces in advance, cover and chill until party time. The cake can be baked and frosted the day. Cover and refrigerate until 1 hour before serving. Prepare the pot pies and bake as guests arrive. Prepare the fish and chips at the last minute – or better yet, ask a helper to finish the frying as you busy yourself with the video camera.
Remember, when feeding little ones, the less you give them on their plates – the better the chance they have of eating the dish! Tons of food and too many choices are overwhelming for young palettes. On the other hand, individual pot pies are festive – but for a group of HUNGRY adults, choose to serve the pot pie from a deep casserole dish so that everyone can dig in for seconds … and thirds.
