Prepare the soups for this party a day or two in advance, cover and refrigerate. Warm over medium heat before the guests arrive. Chop and package all of the veggies for the salad the night before so that all you have left to do is the arranging and tossing. Prepare the cake in the morning and the sauce in the afternoon.
