Tree Trimming Supper Party Party Plan

Invite your best pals for an evening of holiday fun. The requirement is that each one must bring an ornament for your tree. During cocktails the ornaments are attached and the twinkle lights illuminated. Now that your guests have worked up an appetite, it’s time to serve a traditional holiday meal.

Recipes for this party plan can be found in At Home Entertaining beginning on page 303 including: Stunning Seafood Crepes, Standing Rib Roast with Red Wine Mushroom Gravy, Herbed Parmesan Popovers, Creamed Spinach Baby Rosemary Baked Potatoes, and Warm Ginger Pudding with Butter Rum Sauce.

Even those there are several last minute recipes in this meal plan, just a little bit of organization will make for a simple to put on supper. Prepare the crepes and filling in advance and assemble just before serving. Do the same with creamed spinach and of course – the dessert! Have your popover batter ready for the muffin tins. While the roast is sitting before carving, pour the pan drippings into the tins. Follow with the popover batter and get ready for the FUN!

Traditional, fussy and festive, this party plan smacks of velvet dresses and plaid bow ties. Update your holiday traditional by serving the meal on a sideboard buffet. Allow guests to help themselves in between hanging ornaments on the bow of the tree. Use warming trays and covered serving dishes to keep everything warm, and have plenty of room for guests to eat from snack trays and coffee tables. (You'll find grocery shopping lists at the top right hand side of the page)

Recipes for a slow cooker

To puree veggies for creamy winter soups, nothing works better than an immersion blender. We recommend the Braun Speed Hand Blender and Chopper.
