Howling At The Moon

A superbly sculpted no-reason to party – party! The moons and the stars align because she said “Yes” when you popped the question - he reached partnership status a year ahead of the predictions – or, you’ve just experienced the birth of the first grandchild. Whatever the high - invite your pals to kick back and howl at the moon – a way out there midnight supper – a new benchmark for partying.

Recipes for this party plan can be found in At Home Entertaining beginning on page including: Mushroom Scallion Pancakes with Sherry Creamed Chicken, Sweet Potato Pancakes with Lobster Herb Cream Sauce, Ricotta Cakes with Poached Egg, Hollandaise Sauce and Caviar, Polenta Cakes with Toasted Corn and Garlicky Shrimp, and Croissant Bread Pudding with Pistachio Nuts and Warm Maple Syrup.

Prepare and bake the bread pudding just as guests arrive. Keep warm on a warming tray at the dessert station. The toppings can be prepared the evening before and gently warmed. Keep warm in a chafing dish, crock pot or fondue pot. Place skillets or griddles at each station. Prepare the pancake batters and pour into silver dollar shaped rounds. Top with the fillings and garnish as suggested. If you are shot-handed, you can prepare the pancakes in advance and keep warm in a chafing dish.

Throw this party for your non-conformist guests. Choose as many of the recipes as you wish, and serve each one separately at its own station. Have helpers at the stations to custom cook each dish. This upscale pancake fare is a hoot to dine on. Full tummies make for howls not growls! (You'll find grocery shopping lists at the top right hand side of the page)
