KIDS KITCHEN - Jon's Spicy Pasta Marinara

Jon and his friend Kassim developed their special spicy pasta recipe after the pizza deliveryman went on strike!
2 cups canned diced tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
a pinch of cayenne pepper (to taste)

1/2 pound angel hair pasta
grated Parmesan cheese

1. In a small pot over medium high heat, cook the tomatoes and all of the seasonings for 5 to 10 minutes.

2. Cook the pasta according to the directions on the package.

3. Drain the pasta and place it into a bowl.

4. Pour the sauce over top and stir.

5. Sprinkle the pasta with Parmesan cheese.

RECIPE NOTE: Jon and Kassim like their sauce slightly spicy. If you are a fan of spicy sauces, feel free to increase the amount of cayenne pepper. Add only a little at a time and taste to make sure you don't add to much. If the end result is a little too spicy, add a little sugar and some more tomatoes. Experiment with all sorts of spices to create your own favorite pasta sauce!!
