If your time is a precious commodity, know that you can easily bake the biscotti, cool and freeze for several days. Bring to room temperature before serving. Likewise the flank steak can be stuffed, rolled and secured up to 24 hours in advance. Brown the steak and prepare the sauce when you come home from work. Cook for several hours and allow to rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing. You can prepare the polenta and the salad dressing in the morning. Just before serving sauté the polenta and toss the salad.


This everyday celebration party plan easily becomes a blueprint for a dinner party for 8 with just a few adjustments. Purchase additional salad greens and double the amount of garlicky dressing. Prepare 2 stuffed flanks steaks and braise them together in double the amount of tomato sauce. Increase the amount of polenta or cut the original recipe into smaller squares. The biscotti recipe makes plenty for a crowd.
