Backyard Barbeque with all the Fixins'

A three-day weekend, an afternoon before the big game, Sunday supper with family - all are great leisurely occasions that deserve good friends getting together with great good food.

Recipes for this party plan can be found in At Home Entertaining beginning on page 148 including: Bourbon Minted Tea, Butterflied Chicken on the Grill, Spicy Baked Bean Casserole, Potato Salad with Sour Cream and Garbanzo Beans, Crisp Coleslaw with Mustard Dressing, Deep Dish Apple Pie

Bake the pie the night before. Before serving, warm in the oven and serve with a scoop of cinnamon vanilla ice ream. Assemble the baked bean casserole the night before and bake the next day. Keep warm in a 200 degree oven. Marinate the chicken overnight. Prepare both the potato salad and the coleslaw the night before and refrigerate. Grill the chickens while your guests sip minted tea and let the party begin.

The side dish recipes in this menu plan easily feed a crowd of guests. For extra invitees throw a few more chickens onto the grill and bake another pie or two and you will be ready for unexpected fun.
