They're Getting Married Party

After dating - for heaven knows how long – your best friend and her beau decide to take the plunge and you are the one designated to throw THE party. Or, your oldest son comes home with THE girl and announces she is the one and Mom, would ya, could ya, shouldn’t ya throw the party to meet the future in-laws? Very special occasions deserve really fussy foods and a party plan that makes all this fussiness doable, so that you too can revel in the milestone celebration!

Recipes for this party plan can be found in At Home Entertaining beginning on page 323 including: Creamed Lobster Bruschetta, Chilled Vichyssoise, Cumin Crusted Sea Bass with Tomato Coulis and Artichoke Salsa, Golden Garlic Mashed Potatoes with Spinach Basil Puree, Warm Carrot Mold with Creamed Peas and Onions, Sesame Seed Dinner Rolls, Red Velvet Cake with Vanilla Frosting.

For this helper-oriented party implore a good friend to be your assistant. Prepare as many items as you can in advance, like the creamed lobster, the soup, the accompaniments to the fish, peel the potatoes and bake the rolls. The cake is easily baked the day before. For the last minute details your helper will come in handy.

This is a really fussy supper, one that is designed to impress. If it is a tad to ambitious for your celebration, eliminate a course or two. Substitute a simple appy in place of the Bruschetta and offer a steamed veggie in place of the carrot mold. No one will ever know!!
