Chili Con Carne with Gusto

Chili is sometimes better eaten the second day than the first! It freezes well for future use. Make a double batch, as insurance, for a day when cooking is not high on the priority list.

Recipe can be found in At Home in the Kitchen on page 144

Step-By-Step Illustrations
Cook onions, garlic and green pepper in a large pot
Brown meats and add chopped tomatoes and seasonings
Garnish with your favorites like fried tortilla, green onion, cheese and sour cream

The great surprise in this dish is adding on all of the terrific toppings that come with great chili. Grated cheese, sour cream, sliced black olive, green onion rings, and diced jalapeno are traditional. Why not add fried tortilla strips, avocado slices, or crispy fried spinach - just for fun?
