Furry Feasts
A recent fundraiser was held in Jorj's North Carolina home as part of a group of "Furry Feasts" designed to raise funds to benefit the building of a new animal shelter. Guests (and pet lovers….) paid to attend an Alfresco Sunset Supper that featured a multi course sit-down dinner cooked and served by Jorj and her team of dedicated volunteers. Every guest took home one of Jorj's autographed books as their personalized gift.

Guests enjoyed a glorious sunset and a bountiful menu that included Summer Minestrone Soup, Grilled Romaine Hearts, and Oven Roasted Cornish Game Hen served over Asiago Polenta.

Summer Minestrone Soup is served as a first course with a garnish of crispy pancetta, toasted pine nuts and diced hard boiled egg.

Hearts of Romaine Lettuce are drizzled with olive oil and then briefly grilled for a smoky flavor that works wonderfully with roasted baby tomatoes, shavings of Parmesan cheese and herbed grilled croutons.

Volunteers celebrated after all of the guests were served. The good looking one (below) with the beard is my son Jon who took off some time from his college studies to sous chef for his mom!!

Girl’s Night Out!
Bridal Shower Cooking Class

A great time was had by the bride (who worked as Jorj’s kitchen apprentice) and her wedding party (who served the food) and all of the guests who added their comments and asked questions at this unique cooking demonstration and kitchen shower.

The bride and her mom look on as Jorj prepares some Girl Power Appys (at right).

A favorite recipe was the one for Tuna Tartare on Home Made Potato Chips.

The girl’s went “gawh gawh” over Jorj’s recipe for Sautéed Succotash Bruschetta Topped with Grilled Shrimp (at left).

Another show-stopper was the excellent Bruschetta with Sherried Wild Mushrooms and Blue Cheese. Yumms were had by all.
